5 Power-Packed Scriptures That Give Strength In ANY Situation

I don’t know about you, but the first thing that comes to mind when I see the word STRENGTHĀ is: Shocking I know, but it’s true! Sherman Klump went through so much just to fit in, only to find out that he was perfect just the way he was. Now that is what you call STRENGTH! Below are five power-packed scriptures I suggest you read when you’re down and need strength to pick you up: 1. God is my strong fortress, and he makes my way perfect. -2 Samuel 22:33 NLT God is your security guard. He makes sure you make it to your destiny safe and sound all the time. 2. The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.-Psalms 28:7 NLT When you feel down and need a pick me up, I encourage you to sing to the top of your lungs. Yes, you’ve read right. Sing a few of your favorite inspirational songs to flush away the funk you may be feeling. It doesn’t matter if you are off-key or not, the Lord inhabits your praises. It is an honor when you sing glory to his name. Plus, it will make you feel 100 times better once you finish! šŸ˜‰ 3. The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights. -Habakkuk 3:19 NLTĀ  Never forget God is your STRENGTH and with Him ANYTHING is possible! Instead of breaking down rememberĀ  He has given you confidence as strong and mighty as a deer to conquer the highest of heights! 4. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.- Philippians 4:13 NLT No explanation is necessary! Apostle Paul explains YOU are capable of doing ALL THINGS through Jesus Christ. This means, there is no need to second guess your possibilities, just do it and finish what you’ve begun! 5. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Isaiah 40:29 NLT When you are weak God will make you STRONG. When all of your hope is gone HE will give you power! ELEVATE FROM THIS: TO: YESICAN! YES I CAN!!! GOD BLESS!!!

In our first episode, Jessica shares four practical tips on how to get past hurdles in your life and move forward with God’s calling on your life even when you are afraid. 1. Don’t let go of your dream. If you really feel like this is what God has for you, don’t let go of that dream. You’re going to go through times when you second guess yourself and you feel like you’re not going to get anywhere but at the end of the day, that’s what I had to hold on to. I knew it is what God wanted from me. 2. Be open-minded. A company might approach you about a writing job or an editing gig, don’t be closed off to that. Be open and willing to try it. Even if it doesn’t work out you can chop it up as a lesson. 3. Get your writing portfolio up. Even if you don’t have a writing job that doesn’t mean you can’t write. Say you see a news story, try to write a mock news story or start a blog. That will help you get your juices flowing, so when you do have the opportunity to interview for a job or someone approaches you, you can refer them to your blog or give them the sample articles you’ve written. That way you will always be ready and you won’t have to worry about scrambling when that time comes. 4. Always be willing to learn. Even though I’ve been doing this for years, things change all the time. There is always something new. They re a lot of people who don’t know how to properly write. Make sure you hone your skills and keep them up to date. You’ll always have that fire within you to continue to write because if you don’t use that gift you can easily lose it.   Do You Want More?? R E S T: What does it mean?

Do you know what it means to truly rest? Grab a cup of coffee, sit back, relax and find out below! Happy Monday and Memorial Day beautiful people! I know I’ve been M. I. A for the past few weeks in posting but wait, I’m not sure about you, but May for me has been full of family graduations. Kicking off the first week of the month, one of my cousins graduated from Howard University. Followed by another cousin of mine graduating from Westlake High School. Oh and how can I forget, last week wrapped up the end of the 2018-2019 academic school year. (S/O to my teachers! We did it!😊) After a series of events, I felt the need to rest, which brings me to the discussion of today’s post. Take a moment, gather your thoughts and share your comments below. When you think of the word rest, what comes to mind? A.) Sleep B.) Meditation C.)Woosah D.) Not Going to Happen If your response was A, B, or C, that’s great! However, if your response was D, no need to be bashful, you’re not alone. For the longest, my personal response was D.) Not Going to Happen. You see, it’s not that I didn’t want to rest, I simply felt because of the many tasks I needed to complete, there was no way I was going to be able to rest. Believe it or not, it wasn’t until last week, during a prayer session with my best friend Maya, God revealed to me the true definition of real rest and the importance of it. The Definition of REST In the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word rest is defined in four entries. One being to repose, another beginning to cease from action. However, the definition that stood out to me was entry one number four which states, rest is a piece of mind or spirit. Hmmm… a piece of mind. It’s something we all claim to have, but let’s be honest, at times we can get besides ourselves. As for myself, that’s exactly what God was revealing to me. He wanted me to sit down and get a piece of mind. Instead of worrying about my finances, my future and the next route to take, He wanted me to hand Him my worries and simply let go of all my anxieties, truly believe and trust in Him. Final Thoughts Alright so let’s be frank, what you’re reading is probably easier said than done right? Nevertheless, God has given you free will and it’s your choice to make the decision. As my Pastor Cornelious mentioned yesterday, it’s time to make up your mind. To help you get started to meditate on John 16:33. I pray it blesses you as it did me! Grace and peace!
