Embracing the Journey: Reflections on Faith, Growth, and Divine Timing

Hello, beautiful people! If you’ve been following my journey, you know that My Journey to Refresh launched in 2018. However, my blogging adventure began much earlier in 2015, when God placed the vision of Christians in College on my heart to elevate my paper journals to public pages. It’s been a long, transformative journey filled with unexpected twists, and today, I want to share some of my reflections on this path.

The Call to Create

When I first started blogging, I had a vision that involved a lot of glitz and glamour—the beautiful life of a professional writer and soon-to-be entrepreneur. I expected the journey to be smooth sailing, filled with likes, shares, and great admiration. But God had other plans. As I’ve learned, when you start walking with the mind of Christ, things shift dramatically. The plans I envisioned often took a backseat to what God had in store, which was often far better than I could imagine even if it didn’t look that way at the time.

A Season of Transition

Looking back at 2022, I realize it was a year of transition for me. I didn’t post as frequently because I was busy adapting to a new job—a position I had prayed for, one that allowed me to break free from the 9-to-5 grind. This change meant I could dedicate more time to my ministry and business. God was leading me into a season of rest and preparation, and little did I know, this journey would reveal the good, the bad, and the ugly of pursuing His calling.

The Revelation

As I moved into 2023, I felt an awakening within me, described beautifully in Psalm 23:1-2: “The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters.”

This scripture encapsulates my experience perfectly. God was preparing me for a new journey—one that would involve training and deeper learning. God began to shake things up. He communicated through dreams and visions, nudging me to prepare for what lay ahead. I realized that this was a season for growth, a time to embrace the discomfort and trust the process.

Words of Encouragement

As I reflect on this journey, I want to encourage you to take a moment and meditate on scripture.

Although many of us grew up to this familiar verse, note these scriptures hold the most profound truths. When I ponder the phrase “He maketh me,” I’m reminded of the importance of surrender. God sometimes calls us to pause, rest, and recalibrate our hearts.

Seeking the Lord with all our hearts is crucial. The journey may be challenging, but I assure you, it’s worth it. What lies on the other side is more magnificent than we could ever fathom.

Final Thoughts

As I continue on this journey, I feel a sense of peace knowing that God is moving in my life. The work isn’t always easy, but with faith, we can trust that each step is leading us closer to our divine purpose. Embrace the journey, my friends, and remember that God is with you every step of the way. Thank you for being a part of my journey. Let’s keep growing together!
